mountain area, plentiful fruits, cool temperature in summer

The two-day stay is basically fine. However, in the first day when groups of travellers showed up, they went downstairs for karaoke and made a lot of noises.
Looks are deceiving. Swallows are surprise ending.
Able to see lots of swallows as Swallow Hotel is a roosting place for the swallows.

It was off peak season, there was no restaurant in the hotel. Hot water only last till 9pm! Fortunately there is nothing much to explore in the area at night so returned to hotel early. The windows are full of swallow droppings on the outside and inside the room, there are flying insects of all sorts. Check the all the windows esp the toilet are closed. The room is over quiet, had to on the mtv channel in order to sleep. The medieval architecture is nice but the hotel is getting run down. Breakfast is very simple, porridge and some dishes. Able to see so many swallows in the morning from the porch and from our room is probably the only perk of this hotel.
Blankets were a little musty, the toilet sink did not work! and hot water took a long time to warm up. We did not complain to the receptionist because we only stayed for a night. The location was good, breakfast was alright. Not value for money though, I think it is possible to get a better room for the rates that they ask.
Close to the bus terminal, understand is the only hotel in the area with elevator.

Service is very lacking, due perhaps to the owner busy with fruit-packing as it is apple and pear harvest season. Room is not clean-up despite special request is made. Reception area is messy and room not clean but restaurant is reasonably well maintained. Hot water for shower only available after 6pm and no hot water supply in the morning unless you make special request when checking in.
Restaurant Tip: Very quiet town. So best book your dinner with the hotel 3 days in advance, otherwise they will not entertain any dinner booking.
helpful English-speaking staff, beautiful countryside, good massage after spa

We drove for almost 6 hours from Taipei City, with a few stops and stayed 2 nights. Would recommend 3 nights to get sufficient rest from driving as next destination could also be a long drive away.Fog begins to descend on mountain roads around 3 pm. Great visitor centre at Wuling Farm which shows details of second highest mountain range of Taiwan. We didn't attend any of the evening programs."Hot springs water" in man-made tiled tubs a bit dubious, but great professional massage service (at a price). Breakfast and dinner included. Mini market for groceries next door.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Bring hiking gear. Cover up well from tiny flies if taking a walk to the waterfall.Bring picnic for hikes.
Average, the hotel is not centrally located hence the constant need yo cab or find buses to various location. Tai Chuang does not have a easy access transportation system. Hence traveling around the town will be expensive.
If you have a bath tub in your room, you enjoy the hot spring in your room. The hotel gave free fruits and biscuits daily. They allowed adding of an extra bed in their room.
We were stay in a Quad Room, family of 4 (adult). Good stay with best location, 24hr 7-Elevent next to the hotel. Shopping Tip: Is near to Fengjia Night Market but quite a distance to walk. Can easily take a "little yellow" 小黄 for to go there. This night market is recommended to go, food is great, shopping for clothes and shoes is spoiled with variety and cheapest. People there is most friendly even if you didn't buy.
